Monica

Best gift I’ve ever given, and the easiest. We had so much fun making it. My mom still laughs and cries every time she watches it 🥹

How it comes together

I think most of us would be surprised by how much we mean to the people around us and by how specific it is. The way you laugh. Advice you gave once and forgot about.

Most of it goes unsaid. But it doesn’t take much to change that.

FAQ

  • What is a toast?

A short video message from one person to someone they care about, up to a minute long. Everyone records their own from your link, and we put them all together into one film for the day.

  • Does Toast make the film for me?

No, you do. You set the vibe, pick the music, choose who’s in it and the order they come on, and write the words it opens and closes with. We just do the boring editing: the quiet seconds before someone starts, the long pauses, the awkward bits. You’re the director, we’re the crew.

  • Does anyone need to download an app?

No. They open your link on their phone or computer and record right there. No app and no account, so it’s easy for everyone, whatever their age.

  • Their day is tomorrow. Is it too late?

Probably not. Everyone records in a minute or two, right from the link, so even a couple of hours is plenty.

  • What can everyone add?

A toast of up to a minute, and up to three photos. The photos come together at the end of the film.

  • What if someone’s camera shy?

They get a few easy questions to answer, can watch their toast back, and retake it as many times as they like. Only the take they choose goes in the film.

  • How does it reach them?

By email, at the time you choose, so it arrives on the day. Or gather everyone round the TV and press play together.

  • Do you work with organizations?

Yes. A farewell or a work milestone works just like any other film. For conferences and company events, we’re trying it out with a few teams now. Request early access, say it’s for an organization, and tell us what you have in mind.

  • How much does it cost?

Nothing while we’re in early access.
